Kristers Gudlevskis

HC0005Today’s blog brings us Kristers Gudlevskis of the Bridgeport Sound Tigers, in association with the New York Islanders organization. I sent this one to him in October and he sent it back to me just after 2018 started. Of course, I appreciate all the players that return mail to me but as you can see, the autograph on this particular card wasn’t so great. It looks like a really dried up sharpie that he signed with. Nevertheless, it was a nice gesture!

As you can tell, Kristers is a goaltender who was drafted by the Tampa Bay Lightning in 2013. He was the 12th goaltender selected in that draft, with Zach Fucale going first in the goaltender category.

Up to this point in his career, Kristers has amassed a total of 5 NHL games, having won once in those games. It’s hard to tell if he’ll break out of the mold and become a full time NHL goaltender but goalies do tend to take a bit longer on the developmental curve.

We’ll see in a handful of years if he’s still in the AHL or a full time starter for an NHL team.
