Jeff Schultz is a former 1st round draft pick from the 2004 entry draft. Currently 31 years of age, Jeff has remained with only a couple of teams in his NHL career – the LA Kings and Washington Capitals. He played in 7 season with the Washington Capitals before signing with the LA Kings organization after a buyout was initiated by the team.
Now that Jeff is with the Ducks organiziation, it’s clear his time with the Kings wasn’t as productive as I’m sure he would have hoped for. He amassed a total of 1 point in 10 games and spent the rest of his time over the past two years with the Kings’ affiliate teams, Manchester Monarchs and Ontario Reign.
Jeff continues to toil in the AHL with the San Diego gulls, netting a total of 5 points at this point in the season. To be fair, we probably shouldn’t base Jeff on his point totals as he never (even in junior) reached over 40 points. From my viewings of Jeff, he’s a defensive defenseman and plays a simple game.
