Cole Reindhart, not to be mistaken for another “Reinhart” family member, is featured in this “Star Rookies” hockey card. I do find it a little odd that a 18 year old would be featured as a Rookie since he had already been in the CHL for a year. In fact, Cole was passed over at the NHL Entry Draft but was invited to the Colorado Avalanche rookie camp in the summer of 2018.
Back when I used to watch a few more junior hockey games than I get to now, the Brandon Wheat Kings had players to the likes of Ryan Pulock, Mark Stone and Eric Roy. They were near the middle of the pack in terms of overall standings in the WHL, which is similar to where they’ll be finishing by the end of this year. Just shy of a .500 win percentage, they’ll need to step up their game, as a whole, in order to compete in the playoffs.
Of course, it’s not that easy and the WHL is a competitive league but after 5 consecutive season of playoff hockey, you’d hope some of the leaders will be able to push through for more wins. What’s even more amazing is that the Wheat Kings have missed only two seasons of playoff hockey since 1992/1993 and have won two championships as well. I’m sure that Cole will do his best to help the team right the ship before the post season starts.
Gettin’ the auto
It only took 22 days for Cole Reinhardt to return my letter that I sent him through the mail to the Brandon Wheat Kings. As you can tell, the pen is a little dry but obviously I’m still thankful for the signature.
Seems like Cole has some decent potential as he was recently invited to rookie camp with the Colorado Avalanche
