Jake Durham has had a great season so far, hitting the 30 goal mark this early in the season.  He leads his team, the Flint Firebirds, in goals where second place Ty Dellandrea sits with 14 goals.  In the entire OHL, he’s the 7th player to reach the 30 goal mark with Tye Felhaber leading the pack with 46 goals.

For Jake, individually, he’s had a great season, eclipsing his previous season total in November 2018.  As for the team, they sit a distant last in the OHL with only eight wins on the year.  After the drama that unfolded a couple of seasons ago, I’m hoping that for the sake of the Flint fanbase, things turn around.  If things continue to proceed until the rest of the season, they’ll have a chance at one of the top prospects come the 2019 OHL Priority Draft.

Gettin’ the auto

I think this is one of my first autographs from a member of the Flint Firebirds through the team.  I got Maurizio Colella’s autograph during the offseason although that was from his private address.  Nice to see that the CHL continues to be very fan friendly and likely looking to expand their fan base.  It’s unfortunate that there are a few teams that I’ve encountered that I haven’t had a lot of success with.  Regardless, looks like Flint is one of the teams that are willing to pass along mail as I got this returned to me in 37 days via the team.
