A nice autograph from Jaret Anderson-Dolan of the Spokane Chiefs. To be honest, I didn’t know much about him before the 2017 NHL Entry Draft. I read a lot about Jaret on hockey forums which seemed to indicate he would be a late 1st round pick.
It’s clear that Jaret has had a lot of success in the junior leagues, playing for the Spokane Chiefs. In his second year with the club, he was honored with the “A” on his chest.
It looks like another year for Jaret in the WHL with the Chiefs. As long as he stays healthy, I fully expect him to eclipse the 100 point mark. He managed to net 91 points last season. With Tyson Helgesen leaving the team and joining the Mount Royal University, this might be an opportune time for Jaret to become the captain.
Jaret has the chance to crack a Top 10 in franchise points scored as long as he scores a minimum of 88 points this next season. The Chiefs have had some good players continue on into a very successful NHL career. The notable players include:
- Ray Whitney
- Pat Falloon
- Travis Green
- Tyler Johnson
- Valeri Bure
- Michael Grabner
This year, Jaret gained some media coverage for utilizing a rainbow colored stick tape to show support for the LGBTQ community. You can read all about it in this article by Evan Radford of The Star.
Gettin’ the auto
As I’ve mentioned before, timing is everything. With the WHL in full swing, I kept an eye on players being sent to their AHL teams once they were eliminated. Luckily for me, Jaret was eliminated from the WHL playoffs and sent to the Ontario Reign. He played five AHL games for the team and signed this card for me. He sent this card back to me in 32 days.
