Jason Garrison

Autographed O-Pee-Chee hockey card via TTM of Jason Garrison of the Tampa Bay Lightning

Former Canuck, Jason Garrison, signed this card for me as as a member of the Tampa Bay Lightning. He played for Vancouver for a couple of seasons where he was billed as a “hometown” guy.  In fact, he hailed from White Rock, BC.

I really enjoyed having Jason Garrison on the Vancouver Canucks. His shot, was absolutely deadly although I can’t remember if it was accurate or not in the two seasons he managed to play out of the 6 seasons he signed on for. He was traded to the Tampa Bay Lightning for a 2nd round pick in the 2014 Entry Draft, which the Canucks promptly traded for Linden Vey. That second round pick ended up being Roland McKeown selected by the LA Kings.

Obviously hindsight is 20/20 but Linden Vey is no longer an NHL prospect (currently in the NL – Switzerland) with Roland being a prospect for the Carolina Hurricanes.

Garrison was selected by the Vegas Knights in the Expansion Draft in 2017.  He was one of the first Knights to publicly be seen wearing the Knights jersey.  It’s clear he may be at the tail end of his career, having been sent to the Chicago Wolves in the AHL early in the season.

Gettin’ the auto

This autograph was sent through the Vegas affiliate, Chicago Wolves.  Jason did return this card for me in 119 days along with a few other cards.  I always find that sending to AHL hockey teams produce a lot of success.

A video review of Jason Garrison

Check out the interview of Jason Garrison of the Las Vegas Knights.  It’s a little unfortunate that Jason couldn’t experience playoff hockey in Sin City.
