Jeff Durocher and the powerhouse Rimouski Océanic were on a 11 game winning streak (at the time of the writing of this blog) only second to the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies who are destroying the competition. I’m assuming many eyes are on the team since they have 2020, potential first overall pick in Alexis Lafrenière. Jeff was only recently added to the team in a trade that sent him to the team in December 2018.
With the Gatineau Olympiques, Jeff was team captain and likely garnered top line minutes. I’m sure he’s playing with less responsibility than the top players on the team. Of course, I don’t ever get to watch any QMJHL games, so comment if I’m making some poor assumptions here! Obviously with the post season just around the corner, depth will become at the utmost importance as teams go all in. It’s amazing that the top teams in the Q from last year have fallen (see: Acadie-Bathurst Titan, Blainville-Boisbriand, Armada) so significantly.
Gettin’ the auto
I got four of these Upper Deck CHL hockey cards signed by Jeffrey Durocher, sent to him through the mail to Gatineau Olympiques. This season, I’ve offered players to take any doubles since really, who needs four of the same card signed? I actually wouldn’t be surprised if some of these players didn’t read the letter but instead just signed the cards to save time.
Not easy to find some of these QMJHL player articles in english!
