MacKenzie Entwistle currently is competing with Team Canada in the World Juniors. He’s a top prospect (as seen in the autographed card) and is showing no signs of slowing down. During the 2017 NHL Entry Draft, he was selected by the Arizona Coyotes in the third round. It’s possible that MacKenzie is only one of a few prospects in that round to ever see the light of an NHL arena. In my opinion, there will be a handful from that round that’ll make the NHL, including Michael DiPietro, Morgan Geekie, Stelio Mattheos and possibly Ivan Lodnia, whom I featured in a previous post.
This year, MacKenzie is playing for the Hamilton Bulldogs, the team that participated in the Memorial Cup last year. Unfortuantely for they team, they suffered a semi-final loss to the Regina Pats. Mackenzie put up two points during that tournament in a total of four games.
Earlier this year, MacKenzie was involved in a trade that brought him to Chicago Blackhawks in exchange for Marian Hossa and Vinnie Hinostroza (among others). I think he’ll be a good player for the Blackhawks once he manages to make the NHL.
Gettin’ the auto
A nice autograph from MacKenzie Entwistle, shown here in a Team Cherry jersey. I like these inserts from the Upper Deck CHL set, they add a little extra spotlight on the players that are top prospects. This autograph was returned back to me in 42 days via the Hamilton Bulldogs. Glad to get this return from MacKenzie as I think he’ll be a serviceable player in the future.
Not many players can be named to the World Juniors on Team Canada but MacKenzie Entwistle was one of them.
