Matthew Strome comes from a line of brothers which most (or all) NHL fans are aware of. Ryan (Edmonton Oilers) and Dylan (Arizon Coyotes) Strome are Matthew’s older brothers and have been playing in the NHL for at least a couple of years now. Doesn’t look like Matthew and the other two will see each other often at this point in their careers as he was drafted in 2017 by the Philadelphia Flyers.
Of course, Matt is back with the Hamilton Bulldogs and has contributed where he can as he sits third in team scoring. He’s a big body, standing at 6’4 and 209 lbs and while kids are getting bigger these days, I wouldn’t doubt he’s difficult to move out of the front of the net.
Gettin’ the auto
This is actually the first autograph that I’ve gotten from one of the Strome brothers. I’ve tried to send to Dylan in the past, when he was with Tucson and with Arizona to no avail. I’m not entirely sure if it’s due to the team not forwarding mail or if it’s the player itself but I’m glad that Matthew was willing to sign via the Hamilton Bulldogs. He returned this card to me in 43 days and signed three others which I had mentioned he could keep if he wanted to.
Luckily for me, this wasn’t the first Hamilton Bulldog I got this season. I got MacKenzie Entwistle recently, which will be featured in a future post!
It remains to be seen if he ends up getting selected for the World Juniors as he was left off the selection camp.
A video review of Matthew Strome
Nice video of Matthew Strome at the NHL Combine. Seems like a great kid.
