One of the rising stars in the OHL, Nathan Allensen played his first full season with the Barrie Colts and even managed to gain some great playoff experience, unfortunately cut a bit short by the Kingston Frontenacs. Drafted by the Barrie Colts in the 2nd round, Nathan did well considering it was his rookie season. He was Top 5 in defensive, rookie scoring this season with a fairly strong +/- rating of 10.
In his first game playing with the team, he had a career high of 3 points, 1 goal and 2 assists. It’s good that he wasn’t playing in the NHL as I’m sure fans would have pegged him as a savior and bringing significant hype. We’ll see how he fares next season as I’m sure the coaching staff will give him more minutes and more defensive responsibilities.
Thanks for the autograph Nathan!
