With the recent signing of John Tavares, Nazim Kadri easily slots in a third C role, right behind Tavares / Matthews. I think this will greatly improve the Leafs (as expected) since Kadri is a great shutdown forward. He seems to put up points, topping at 61 points and a -7 +/- rating that season. Last season, he ended up a +2 in the plus/minus category, which is no hidden fact that the team did well, making the playoffs for the second consecutive year in a row. I fully expect the team to, once again, make the playoffs and finish at the top of the standings now that they landed Tavares this offsesason and Matthews, Marner, Nylander are a year better.
It’ll be interesting to see what Kyle Dubas does with the Leafs roster and how they’ll managed to keep all the kids happy with so many coming up for a significant raise, with Marner, Matthews and Kapanen all coming off their ELC next season.
