As you may have noticed, there are a ton of CHL players that I’ll be featuring – this time it’s Nicholas Porco.  It’s great that the young players in hockey are willing to sign for fans, especially when they stretch all over the continent.  In fact, all over the world, players are willing to sign, just like Rasmus Dahlin did for me before he was drafted.  It gives fans a great opportunity to get an item signed before they make it to the big leagues.

Nicholas is currently eligible for the 2019 NHL Entry Draft, which will be held in Vancouver this year. He started his junior hockey career last year with the Saginaw Spirit in which he was drafted 4th overall in the 2017 OHL Priority Selection.  He managed to snag 14 points in his rookie season which was 47th best compared to all OHL rookies.  Andrei Svechnikov took home the trophy in that sense.  This season should be better for him as he’s already tied his goal total from last year, 6 games in.

I’m really interested to see how Nicholas ends up the season and where he’ll eventually rank for the upcoming draft.

Gettin’ the auto

I got this card signed and returned back with a nice letter from Nicholas Porco.  I sent him mail through the Saginaw Spirit and he replied within a month.  Like the previous post, he signed his Upper Deck CHL Star Rookies hockey card, where he was donning the Spirit’s jersey.  A nice personalization and his autograph in a black sharpie, although the dark jersey makes it a bit hard to read.  As for the letter, it wrote:

Thank you for the kind words.  I had a great year in Saginaw and looking for to this season.  Thanks again, Nick.
