Nick Robertson, brother of Dallas forward prospect Jason Robertson, is an upcoming 2019 NHL draftee. I did a bit of research and it looks like he’s slated to go somewhere in the late 1st, early 2nd round of the NHL Draft that will be held in Vancouver, BC, Canada this year. Let’s see if he can be drafted ahead of Jason’s eventual draft selection at #39. I’m sure there is some level of sibling rivalry when it comes to being drafted in the NHL.
This year, Nick is likely going to do whatever it takes to improve his rankings. I’m sure if he just focuses on playing his game and improving, teams will take notice. Team USA had already selected Nick to be a part of the Hilinka Gretzky tournament last year where he scored a hat trick vs Team Canada. He ended up with 5 points in 5 games in that tournament.
At the time of this writing, Nick is certainly on pace to shatter any of his junior hockey milestones, having already surpassed his goal totals, halfway through the CHL season. He’s two points away from passing his rookie season totals.
Gettin’ the auto
I recently got this sweet Upper Deck Star Rookies card signed by Nick Robertson when I sent him some items through the mail to get autographed. He signed and sent back this card via the Peterborough Petes in 16 days. I can only imagine what was happening on the ice when this photo was snapped.
Lots to be excited for the next team that drafts Nick Robertson!
