Noah Dobson was one of a few highly touted NHL prospects heading into the 2018 NHL Entry Draft. From what I recall, most had him Top 10 so when he fell to the New York Islanders, it was a steal for him to be nabbed at the 12th spot. Of course, the Islanders had two picks just out of the Top 10 that were back to back, so he definitely could’ve gone 11th overall.
This season, he’ll probably put up similar numbers if the first quarter is any indication of things to come. I’m sure his experience and ability to control the blue line will help the Titan to remain competitive despise a few key departures in Antoine Morand and Jeffrey Truchon-Viel in the offseason.
It’s coming up to the World Junior Hockey Championships in December and I’d guess that Noah is a lock to make the team. I’m not entirely sure how well he did during the WJSS outside of scoring 3 goals in 2 games for Team Canada. I’ll be attending a few of the games during the tournament so hopefully I’ll be able to catch a glimpse of Noah!
Gettin’ the auto
This card was signed through the Acadie-Bathurst Titan’s mailing address in just over a month. He signed the card with appears to be an “N” followed by “Dobson”. A little messy but I’ll take that as a major success from this NYI prospect!
Good on the Islanders to lock up this prospect as he’ll be a good one in years to come.
A video review of Noah Dobson
I always appreciate videos of players getting drafted into the NHL. It’s one of my most anticipated watches of the year!
