Autographed Heroes and Prospects hockey card signed via TTM by Rafael Harvey-Pinard of the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies

Like many of the players in the junior hockey leagues, I haven’t had much opportunity (or time!) to watch them play. I’ve been busy with other things going on in my life but with the help of Upper Deck, I should be able to keep a closer eye on things. Of course, I’ll miss opportunities to watch players like Rafael Harvey-Pinard, who currently plays for the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies. Knowing myself, I tend to pay more attention to players when I’m looking for their autograph.

Rafael is looking to start up another junior season soon, which I presume will be with the Huskies.  He led the team in points with 76 last season in what was likely a season which did not meet expectations.  Only three seasons ago, they were the Q champions and made it to the Memorial Cup finals.  With a quarterfinal loss and first round exit in subsequent years, things seem to be not headed in the right direction.  However, this is likely a common occurrence as players typically play no more than 4 season with a particular junior team.

I figure that Rafael will take that leap into a leadership role, whether it be in terms of captaincy or reliance on point production.  With Mathieu Boucher as a 21 year old, Rafael seems to be a reasonable choice.

Gettin’ the auto

I’ve mentioned in a few of my previous blog posts that I have spent some time going on social media to direct message players.  I’ve had moderate success (estimated <10%) getting responses.  Rafael was kind enough to message me back with a private address of his to send this card to.  He sent it back to me in 40 days.

Take a look at Rafael’s first goal in the Q.  A nice tip in goal where he noticed the defenseman without a stick.  Great heads up play!
