Hailing from Ilava, Czechoslovakia, Tomas Tatar was a good pick up for the Detroit Red Wings. He represented the team for almost 5 full NHL season where he was able to achieve a career high in points during the 2014/15 season. The two seasons after hitting 56 points, Tomas had just under 50 points both seasons. He’s actually also remained quite durable, having played 80+ games the last four seasons.
Obviously now, he’s a member of the Montreal Canadiens, looking to help them reach a playoff birth after missing out last season in what many deemed a disastrous season. The Canadiens seem to be rolling this season, sitting well in the 3rd spot in the Atlantic division. It’s likely by the time this post is out, Buffalo or Boston will leap over the Habs as they’re currently one point behind them.
Gettin’ the auto
This actually is going to be an odd post since this one will include one player but two sets of cards that I sent to him! At first glance, you might think that Tomas signed these two cards with different pens but what player wants to do that? I sent two letters to Tomas, one when he was with the Vegas Golden Knights and the other at his current team. Both letters showed up within days of each other. I had written off the one from Vegas (to be fair – it was sent in the offseason where I figured he’d be at the beginning of the season) and sent another quickly to Montreal.
Love the last link about a girl who is Tomas’ good luck charm!
