I don’t actually know much about Tye Felhaber but am excited to learn a little about him through the writing of this blog post.
Obviously Tye had played for the 67s but was originally drafted by the Saginaw Spirit in the 1st round. He went 10th overall in a 2014 OHL draft has already developed some NHL talent. Players like Jakob Chychrun, Clayton Keller and Victor Mete are the three names with more than 10 NHL games under their belts.
He made a huge leap in production last year, netting 31 goals and 39 assists. He beat his point totals from his rookie year (38), although in 2016/17 he participated in only 48 games.
At 20 years old, it appears as if Tye is moving on to the AHL with the Laval Rocket organization. As many hockey fans know, this is the affiliate for the Montreal Canadiens and hopefully he can gain some recognition through his play. Last season, he had a 4 game tryout producing no points in those games.
Gettin’ the auto
Getting these CHL hockey cards really bring me back to when ITG produced the set, Heroes & Prospects. I got an address from Tye in which I sent this hockey card to him to get signed. He graciously signed it for me in 18 days. This is actually the first Ottawa 67s hockey card that I have gotten directly from an active player. The first Ottawa 67s card I got back was from Sean Monahan. IMHO, Sean has been one of the best players to have come out from the 67s organization.
